The real-world performance of a processor is affected by hardware and software configurations the same model processor may perform quite differently from one computer to the next, based on hardware choice and software configuration. Unfortunately, these ratings are difficult to compare between manufacturers (i.e., Intel and AMD). Processor models are labelled from the manufacture based on architecture, speed, and generation. General rule: A faster processor will enable Itasca software to calculate faster. Itasca does not guarantee the performance of any system or configuration. Many hardware configurations are possible. These can be found on each software web page under System Requirements. A recommended system is also suggested for each software. These are the lowest hardware specifications that can be used to run the software, but with no expectation of performance.
